Just put a new CB in the Jeep and it is not working real good. I'm not stupid but I don't know much about about CB theory. Long story short, from the trouble shooting I have done, high SWR must be the issue. I know one guy that has an SWR meter but when we could maybe get together is hard for us to do.

Does anyone have an SWR meter that I could use or would be willing to help me tune mine so that I can get it up working? Or at least just shoot me some tips on how to tune it myself.

Thanks for any help guys.

Well I just said to heck with it and got a SWR meter so that I could play ith the new CB a little. It is really not that far out at all but it does have some room for improvement.

Now I just need to find someone else a good CB to be a final good test for mine.

I went down to the Limehouse boat ramp this morning since that was about the most open spot I could think of and put the SWR meter on it. Turms out it was 2.5-3.25 depending on channel. I played with it a good bit and got it down to about 1.6 on 1 and about 1.5 or so on 40 so I think I will leave it right there. I still could not get anyone to answer me on a radio check but I just may have been to far away from anyone to hear. Guess I will just have to wait until I run into someone with a good working CB to really know how mine is doing.

One thing I did learn is find an open area to do it in. The reading were way different getting away from buildings and trees.
