Im thinking of putting my ICOM 2100-H or my old Kenwood TM-241 2m mobile in the Jeep, Not sure if I want to piggyback my CB or mount it in the Center console. I need to decide what antenna to mount whether I do just a glass mount on the windshield like I did on my Bronco, and Amigo. That or a small 2/3 wave on the driver side rear on a spring mount or something.

Anyone got any ideas on antenna mounts for the ole YJ. My CB antenna is mounted to the spare tire stop on the passenger side.

Here is the ICOM 2100-H

and the Ole Kenwood TM-241.

Both work real well but I think the 2100-H has a bit more power. Not really important since the antenna will not do either justice at full power.

I could build you a decent overhead console for just the cost of materials. Usually runs about 50 to 60 bucks. Here's one I did a couple years ago. They aren't Tuffy but work pretty good and when I ran one never had a security problem.

On a side note, couple real nice radios. Had the same Icom once but went to a hand held. Wanting to get another mobile one of these days.

that looks great, has the style of the Tuffy. lol I had to force enter my Tuffy glovebox, it took 2 crowbars to get it open and Im still trying to hammer it back in shape. The lock cylnder I put in doesnt meet the latch to open it and when I latched it closed in Uhwarrie I couldnt re-open it. I will have to leave the lock off for now til I can find the correct lock for it.

I hate to body mount an antenna, and I know the glass mounts dont have the range to get out like I want. I need to get in a place I can put all my regular home antenna up. I have a 2m base, and HF that both match. ICOM for the pair and want the 440 unit that matches just for the sake of it. Think the models are 251 and 701 they are in storage right now.

I use a Dipole for the HF and a verticle and yagi for the 2m since I normally have the ICOM 2100h inside and the 251 for SSB and other modes like SSTV, PSK-31 and what not. I have a home brew rig interface.
