I was thinking of putting in a front locker. Anyone have any recommendations that won't break the bank?

Aussie Locker. $239.00 and easy enough to install yourself in the garage in a couple of hours. Thumbsup

Was working to put in my Aussie Locker today and it went fairly simple till I noticed my Spindle bearings were gone. Now I am having some problems with the Ring Gear bolts. I went to torq them down and one striped at 50 lbs. It says they need to be torqued to 80lbs.

Does this sound right? Confused

If you're re-using the old bolts naw, not suprizing. Did the bolt strip or was it both the bolt and the hole in the carrier?

I haven't a clue what they need to be torqued to either.

I am hoping it was just the bolt but I don't know yet. I guess I should take the rest out and check them but they all checked in at 80lbs. Some may be higher.

Ring Gear looks good and all the holes have all the threads so that is a relief. I had to order new bolts from 4wd.com since no one carries them and the guy at Parks said that the bolt was not original so he didn't carry them. Apparently the only bolts put in DANA 30/35s are left hand threaded....

....Uhhh then why does all the major companies sell right hand threads and why are mine right hand threaded????

Uhh maybe because the companies catalog you are looking in only sells left hand threaded and you don't think anyone else knows what they are doing!.!.!

Sorry... had to rant on the Parts house guy a bit. I don't doubt there are left hand threads I just fail to beleve that no one sells the right hand threaded bolts. And as I found out 4wd.com does. Say what you will they got the goods in stock.. Thumbsup
